A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child. --Forest E. Witcraft

Green Light

Today was the hearing that terminated the parental rights of the alleged father(s) of Precious.  Mom's rights were terminated in April.  Precious is legally free for adoption and she is not yet six months old.*  This is AMAZING!

After the hearing was over, Buddy asked me if this means we get to adopt her for sure.  I told him yes, and he is so excited.  He told everyone he saw for the rest of the day!

*Assumes no appeal is filed, but that won't happen, because no father has ever been involved in the case.

  4. I understand that someday Precious will grieve over the implications of today (and April). TPR is like Good Friday. But Easter Sunday is coming! Can't wait to hear about your adoption being finalized! I've been following your story of Precious, especially, since our newborn foster son was placed with us about the same time (he is now 5 months old). He seems to be on the same track (no one knows the whereabouts of birth mom). We have a hearing next month to change goal to TPR, so no idea what the timeline will be. God has blessed you with such a quick timeline! Praise God!
