A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove...but the world may be different because I was important in the life of a child. --Forest E. Witcraft

Saying Good-Bye

After we arrived home from picking up Sweets at her dad's this evening, Sweets came to me on the verge of tears and said the following. "It's not hard to say good-bye to my dad, but it's hard to say good-bye to you." She had barely arrived at my house for the weekend and already she is thinking about having to leave on Sunday. How incredibly sad for her.

  1. I can't even begin to imagine how you felt when Sweets was 4.5 and she went to live with Dad. That must make for one confused little girl. Your consistant love must be invaluable to her.

  2. That was an incredibly sad time. I praise God that her dad recognized how important we were in her life and continued contact. No one really expected that, and CPS was trying to discourage it. So much for best interest of the child....
